Portable Display /w Keyboard & Touchpad (laptop-like)
Ideated April 5th, 2013
The quickest way to describe this idea is a laptop without any computer guts.  There will be multiple video inputs (HDMI, DVI, VGA).  This will let you plug in many different kinds of devices (game consoles, PCs, servers).  It will have a USB cable for the built-in keyboard and touchpad.

The laptop is the perfect form-factor for this kind of device.  It's portable.  It will allow LAN gamers to take this instead of a separate monitor and keyboard (though most would like a real mouse to play on).  It pairs up nicely with the relatively recent small gaming PCs that are based off the mini ITX form factor.  These things are as powerful as full-sized gaming PCs because they use the same components!  But you still have to haul a separate monitor and keyboard!

It'd also be great for computer techs who can bring this to a client's place to work on a PC or server without hauling around a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.  It'll be nice and compact.

It would also have speakers and a audio input to plug into your desktop.  If connecting via HDMI, you'll already have sound (since HDMI supports audio).

There will also be several USB ports, since it will act like a USB hub if it's already connected for the keyboard/touchpad.

Optional battery for those in the tech field.  If you're working on a headless server, you don't want to hunt for a power outlet.

I want to build or buy a small gaming PC (mini ITX based) but can't justify it without a portable monitor/keyboard/mouse device like this.

This is an idea and is patent pending, but I would like to see this become a reality!
